Rehabilitation
Project Walk
The main form of rehabilitation that I do is based on the research that has been done by Project Walk in the USA. They have been helping people like myself gain mobility for over 10 years. In April and May of 2009 I spent eight weeks attending the centre just after I left hospital. During this time I went from having some movement in my legs albeit very weak, to being able to support my own weight and walk using crutches. The most important aspect of my trip to Project Walk was to learn about my new body and how to work it and improved it. Since returning I keep in touch with the main researcher over there and am continuing to improve based on what I learned. I have included a video of an appearance that I made on Channel 7′s Sunday Night television program that captures what this centre is all about.
Further Updates to Come
Stay tuned further update to this page as there is a lot of content for me to add. There is also plenty of other literature available that can assist if you or someone in your family is faced with dealing with this injury. I will endeavour to put as much information as I can on this page as time progresses.
