I had tears in my eyes not because I pity you but because I am inspired by you! You know I am normally a bloke of many words – your story has humbled me to just a few. Wow. It just doesn’t matter what gets thrown at you and your family. You keep getting up. Only a few years ago I bumped into Pete in Brissie and he told me the story around the Amy Gillett crash and his girlfriend (sorry Pete her name escapes me now…).

Anyhow – I know the years make it seem too long ago – but none of that matters. Keep doing your thing, bit by bit, day by day and keep letting us all know how you are going.

Hi Michael,
I watched your interview on Sunday Night last month and was very impressed with your spirit and determination. Our 15-year old son, had a swimming accident Jan 09 and broke his C5. This accident has left him a quadriplegic. While watching your interview, he agreed with everything you said.
We are at the very beginning stages of planning a visit to Project Walk (Carlsbad) and would really appreciate any help or advise you can share with us.
I was also reading on your updates/diary entries that you had carers when in the States,could you please assist us with information on organising carers (ie did you arrange for carers from the States or did you take cares from Australia with you).

Hi Michael…thanks so much for putting yourself “out there” and showing what can be achieved with grit and determination. I too have a spinal chord injury..T9/10 from a MBA in Dec 2007, and watching your progress gives me hope that my “walking” will one day be functional.
“onward and upward” has been my motto although I know there are days when I loose sight of this but seeing what you are achieving gives me a renewal of hope and courage to keep on!!!
