Hello,
Michael you are one truely inspirational man.I worked with both yourself and Monica back at David Jones, mostly with Monica.
I was deeply touched with the courage and determination that you both have. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.
Regards
Karen

Hi Michael, Monica and Ash
Saw your story on Sunday night, looks like things have really come along well since we last spoke! Congratulations!
I’m wondering how I can get in contact with you guys, because I’m going to go over to Project Walk myself, and any tips for organising the trip would be greatly appreciated, seeing as you’ve been there already! Thanks mate, again good to see how far you’ve come, hopefully talk soon.

Keep fighting Michael. I am a C-7 injury who was also tole he would never walk again. it has been 20 months and I have not used a chair in 9 of them. You are correct – it has nothing to do with a miracle, it is hard work.

Hi Michael, Monica and Ash,
I was also touched by this – I knew that Pat was going over to the States with you for this, but I didn’t truly realise what you were going to do. Your comment about not giving up hope is a really poignant one, and one that is so counter-intuitive to everything we are taught! My thoughts are with you and I hope you continue going from strength to strength to achieve that ultimate aim! All the best and may everything go your way! Ern (SKCC)

Michael & fam,
I was stunned to see your story on Ch7 the other night; as an amateur cyclist myself it always petrifies me that something could happen when I’m out on the road, especially as I usually have my 2 kids in the bike trailer on the back.
What didn’t surprise me though was your courage and determination. You probably don’t remember, but we worked together on the DJs project in Sydney more than 10 years ago – although you would’ve known me by my maiden name of Robertson. I always remember the smiling, happy-go-lucky guy sitting opposite me who never took ‘no’ for an answer.
I wish you courage, strength and God’s Blessings on the long journey ahead. Good on ya’ matey!
Warmest wishes,
Ash

Hi Michael
Saw the show on Sunday night,my son Nilson is T7,T8 and left a para from his accident Jan 09 . We are going to Qld to start the walk again project but now wonder if we should not go to America first to kick start the whole thing off. Would appreciate any help and advise you can give as it is so limited from Perth and the spinal unit here is not pro active in any way.At 28 yrs of age he can not accept the dead end that is given to him with out some sort of fight to regain the chance of some improvement.
All the best in your recovery and I’m sure you will continue to prove the existing system dysfunctional.
Kind Regards
Elizabeth Boutet

Forbsey,
How wonderful to see you looking so well and strong. You are destined for great things. Although, I am sure destiny has not so much to do with it as does determination, positivity, and hope.
Love to you and your family,
Mel (Rackham) and family.

Hi Michael…thanks so much for putting yourself “out there” and showing what can be achieved with grit and determination. I too have a spinal chord injury..T9/10 from a MBA in Dec 2007, and watching your progress gives me hope that my “walking” will one day be functional.
“onward and upward” has been my motto although I know there are days when I loose sight of this but seeing what you are achieving gives me a renewal of hope and courage to keep on!!!
Kind regards Lyndall

Have had so many comments Michael from friends & family who watched the show – Uncle Dixon reckons you are a pretty good looking fellow (like your Dad he said). Everyone was amazed at your positiveness (if there is such a word). Look after yourself.

Hi Michael,
I watched your interview on Sunday Night last month and was very impressed with your spirit and determination. Our 15-year old son, had a swimming accident Jan 09 and broke his C5. This accident has left him a quadriplegic. While watching your interview, he agreed with everything you said.
We are at the very beginning stages of planning a visit to Project Walk (Carlsbad) and would really appreciate any help or advise you can share with us.
I was also reading on your updates/diary entries that you had carers when in the States, could you please assist us with information on organising carers (ie did you arrange for carers from the States or did you take cares from Australia with you).
Wishing you all the best

Forbsey,
You know I am normally a bloke of many words – your story has humbled me to just a few. Wow. It just doesn’t matter what gets thrown at you and your family. You keep getting up. Only a few years ago I bumped into Pete in Brissie and he told me the story around the Amy Gillett crash and his girlfriend (sorry Pete her name escapes me now…).
Anyhow – I know the years make it seem too long ago – but none of that matters. Keep doing your thing, bit by bit, day by day and keep letting us all know how you are going.
Here is to your speedy recovery! See you back on the bike soon.

Mike,
We worked together at Telstra. I still work with David Bruce. I have been following your story since your accident via your website. You are an amazing guy. If I could think of anyone to achieve what you have it would be you. Good luck mate. You are an inspiration to us all.

HI Mike, I am Kirsty’s older sister and she just showed me the video of your story. What an incredibly determined man you are and what an amazing journey you are taking. I had tears in my eyes not because I pity you but because I am inspired by you! Thank you for being the kind of person that can do what they say they will and work towards it with every fibre of their being. May your committment to yourself and love of family and friends keep you strong in your discovery of yourself once more. Tania
