Another great weekend at home – crazy busy day on Saturday and a bit more relaxing yesterday. Was almost like normal – we hooked Mike up to his FES bike and then I headed out for my first ride since Mike’s accident. Was a bit scarey but nice to get some fresh air and do some exercise. Then we headed in to town to watch the GF at RACV club – pretty rough old trip up to the station but Mike did really well. Train was packed but all around a really nice day – thanks to Nathan and his family for sharing the outing with us!

Sunday was a lovely day so we headed with Ash to the park and then to breakfast – we have decided that the footpaths in Elwood need a bit of a flatten – Mike’s poor, poor shoulders! Very pleasant day with quite a few people dropping in – gee it is nice to be home!

Not a fan of saying goodbye and sending Mike back on Monday mornings – very hard, but hopefully lots more positive things to happen this week.

Now on to the boring but important stuff …A few people have been asking me about fundraising events – past, present and future – so just a boring short little update to keep people in the loop. We are looking to have a separate page for fundraising so that we keep this all about Mike and his amazing determination and positive attitude!

Thankyou again to everyone involved in any way, shape or form in the bike raffle – we raised over $6,500 from the raffle and donations received at the race. THis is an amazing start on getting Mike to Project Walk – 20% of the way there already!

Other things that are going on in the fundraising space are:

- Tupperware party at the blue house this Sunday from 3pm. Please contact Jacquie (info@jactwentyone.com.au) if you are interetsed or would like a catalogue. All profits go to help get Mike to Project Walk. There is an added bonus that any parties around this time also ensure money is donated to Breast Cancer!

- Cadbury fundraiser chocolates. If anyone would like to take a box to work to sell, please let me know. Chocs are $1 each and they come in mixed boxes of 48 — please save me from myself and take some boxes away from me!

- Cycling jersey. We are working on a jersey (which looks awesome!). More details to come.

- Dinner. We are also looking to put together a dinner before the Christmas rush. If you have any good contacts for raffle or auction items, again, please let me know!

- Charity ride.  A few guys are putting together a 360km ride from the Murray to Melb in January 2009. The ride is being orchestrated by a lovely lad who did the Ironman with Mike last year. The idea is that they are going to do 2 ironman rides – 360km. Please contact Mark Mathews if you are keen to join in.
